Costco Shopping – August 23 & 30 2013

August 23, 2013

I didn’t by anything exciting.  But I enjoyed looking at Christmas stuff.  This Christmas season will be over before we know it.  Please enjoy.

I cannot get enough of these hot wings.

Honey Roasted Nut Mix looked interesting.  They were good.  I finished it in a week.  I like eating nuts at work.  It’s a great way to pass time.

August 30, 2013

Bought 2 doormats (World’s Best Outdoor Mat).  They were really good that I bought 2 of them.

I also bought a jar of Costco Mixed Nuts and a gallon of Orange Juice.

After eating a hotdog and putting gas in the car, I went to Wal*mart, ROSS, and Smart and Final.

Good times… shopping is fun.

Ful Backpack Review – It Cut Me (drew blood)

It happened in the morning of April 25.

As I put something in my backpack, I felt a sharp pain.  My backpack cut my hand.  This over 1 inch long cut drew blood.  Four months later, on August 25, I have a scar I don’t think will go away.

I cut my hand as I pull my hand out.

Inside the Ful backpack, there is a Velcro with a plastic label.  I got cut on the corner of that label.  I guess it’s a freak incident.  I wonder how many other people had similar experience.

I am scarred for life, literally, because of Ful backpack.

Christmas Time is Here

August 16, 2013

Christmas time is here at Costco.  I am very happy and excited.

My new job is much less stressful, so I will have time to enjoy this holiday season.  I will not spend a lot of money this year.  There will be no Christmas tree.  I am carefully saving money for next Christmas (2014).  I plan to buy a car with whatever the cash I saved.

Have fun.  Don’t complain that it’s too early for Christmas.  Don’t be one of those people who complain, but be the person who enjoy Christmas in August at Costco.

Ah~~ four months to enjoy Christmas at Costco.

Costco Shopping – August 10, 2013

I needed one more coffee grinder.  (picture below) One on the left is the new one.  I need at least 4 coffee grinders so I can streamline my daily routine.  I drink 4 different coffee.

  1. Coffee for Weekdays (at work, not too expensive, but better than Starbucks)
  2. Coffee for weekend (Saturday, Sunday- Ruta Maya, good and expensive)
  3. Espresso (fine grind, set for percolator)
  4. Coffee of the season (flavored, decaf… )

Peet’s Coffee made an appearance at my Costco warehouse.  It’s Major Dickason’s Blend.  This is one of my favorite coffees, Peet’s Coffee is much better than Starbucks Coffee.  To be honest, I like McDonald’s and Wendy’s coffee better than Starbucks Coffee.  Starbucks Coffee is too acidic… bitter.

And I bought some snacks and quick dinner items.

* Update: A few days later at work, I visited my co-workers’ office.  I had my coffee mug with me.  I was sitting about 10 feet away from them (2 guys).  We were talking about STD and pregnancy (guy talk).  One of them interrupted our conversation and said "Your coffee smells good."  "It’s Peet’s" I smiled.

Costco Shopping – August 6, 2013

I went to Costco after work to pick up a chicken for dinner.

I bought a globe for people I know.  They recently started to take trips all over the world.  This will be a great way to kiss butt.   I expect to get a lot more in return.  Oh, yeah, I have no shame.  Give me a Dollar, I’ll stand on my head.

I bought another blanket as a backup (for guest)

A new guitar – G&L ASAT Custom

I bought a guitar I wanted for last several years.  It’s G&L ASAT Classic Custom. ($1550 after tax).

Mr. Leo Fender founded Fender.  Leo Fender sold his company when he was ill.  After regaining his health, he founded G&L.  So, if you really like guitars by Leo Fender, you need to buy G&L. I don’t want to start an argument, but I would never buy a Fender guitar.  My royalty is with Leo Fender.

I am very happy with this guitar.  I still need to buy a good metal guitar (Jackson or ESP)

No more clipping coupons – It is official

It’s official, this answers our question.

(officially) We do not have to clip coupons anymore.  You can just show your coupon books without clipping them.  Additionally, you don’t have to have coupon book with you.  If you have a smart phone, you can show coupons from your mobile app.  Your cashier will honor the coupon you show on your mobile app.

* At this point, I will not be surprised if a lot of Costco warehouses apply coupon discounts to every shoppers automatically, without asking for coupons.

Until this point, officially, we were supposed to clip coupons.  That’s why they say ""No more clipping coupons"

Costco Shopping – August 2, 2013

I bought a few coupon items (razors and yogurt).  Dorco razor didn’t work out.  To me, Gillette Fusion is the best.  Thank you, Wrngway, for ruining my life, hahaha~!!

I really like this queen size fuzzy (micro fiber) blanket by Calvin Klein.  I have 4 fuzzy (micro fiber) blankets, but they don’t cover my entire body.  So, during the cold season, I use 2 blankets when I watch TV in the living room. It’s about time they have bigger size blanket, cheap ($15.49).  I may buy one more as a backup (and for guest).

It was a quick shopping.  I also bought gas and ate a slide of pizza.

Good times…
