First Sign of Christmas 2016 – July 29

Hey, it’s here.

For last several years (perhaps over 10 years?) the first sign of Christmas at Costco was these Christmas ribbons.   I always see them in late July.  Today, July 29th, at my Costco shopping, I expected to see those Christmas ribbons, and I there they were.

I was excited to see those ribbons  You know how much I love Christmas. To me, it’s fun and exciting when I see the first sign of Christmas.  It so happens that Costco is the store that officially releases Christmas products the earliest.  This adds to my mental association between Costco and festive feeling.  When I think about Christmas, I think about Costco. My Christmas will not be the same without Costco.

We still have long Summer months left.  But, seeing these ribbons changes my internal energy.  Things wil be different now that Costco has officially hinted Christmas 2016.

We will have good time this Winter.  And, soon, 2016 will be a history.  So, now is time to show love to my friends and family before I look back with regret.

Enjoy~!!

LED Tubes at Costco – Died after 11 months

OMG. One of my LED Tubes died after 11 months.  It’s supposed to last 45 years.  It didn’t even make 1 year.  I am disappointed.

I took it back the next day (Costco handled it no problem) – and I bought the same pair as a replacement.  I hope they last 45 years as they promise.  This was a little hassle (waste of my time), but I was glad I bought them from Costco.  Imagine if I bought them from elsewhere, or online store, etc..  then I’ll have to package it and ship them back???  I avoided a major hassle because I shopped at Costco.

Buying a defective item is something you cannot avoid. It’s nobody’s fault.

Below is my blog from 11 months ago – about the light tube.

The new technology is here.  And it’s available at Costco.  This is quickly becoming an old news.  But, for now, I am excited about this new technology.

You can now replace 4 feet florescent tubes with LEDs without modifying internal wiring of the fixture.  You simply replace the tubes.  They are expensive, but not by much.  I replaced 4 tubes in the kitchen ceiling, and I am happy about how they perform.  They save electricity.  They will last 45 years.  So, I wrote down the installation date on the tubes.  If they stop working after only 44 years, I will take them back for a refund.

Technical Info

  • Uses 17 Watts (instead of normal 40 Watts)
  • Instant on
  • No humming (buzzing) noise.
  • Cool white 4100k color

This irritates me.  Did he mean November 2004? or April 2011 ?

Garage Sale – July 2, 2016

I didn’t find a Michelangelo, but I hit a small jackpot today at a garage sale.

Below picture shows about 75% of what I bought from one garage sale. I also bought a buch of earings (not pictured).  I paid about $10 for everything I have on my hand . They are all sterling silver.

I am hoping to sell these from here, at my blog, not via eBay.  We’ll see…
