13 Pairs of Buffalo Jeans

On my Sunday morning Costco shopping on November 19, I bought 3 pairs of Buffalo David Bitton Jeans. 3 pairs were all I could find in my size (30×30).

They sit low on my back and they were comfortable.  So, I went online and ordered 10 more pairs (5 grays, 5 blacks).  In total, I spent $240 on 13 pairs of jeans.

My point of buying jeans in quantity is that I will no longer think about jeans for next several years.  I will not waste my time think about what to wear at work, that’s why I have 40 Dylan George t-shirts. I’m a guy… nobody cares about how I look at work.

If I want to look good, I will do some push-ups.

*Update:  I am not very happy with the quality of these pants.  They are low in quality.  The stitching is not even and flat that they warp the pants.  But they are cheap… so they are still good enough as wash and go work pants.

Al Pastor Salad at Costco

Check this out – Al Pastor Salad at Costco food court.  Let me know if you tried it before.  Did you like it?

What we know so far.

  • It’s not vegan – The dressing contains eggs. You may eat without dressing.
  • It has 3270 mg of sodium and 59 mg of fat
    • That’s a lot of salt.

Nutritional facts can be found here.
https://www.myfitnesspal.com/food/calories/costco-food-court-al-pastor-salad-697591844

It’s $4.99.  The sign says…

  • Plant based protein (soy)
  • Chopped romaine
  • Black beans and fresh vegetables
  • Banh mi vegetables and dressing
  • 330 – 750 cal.

It says 330 – 750 cal.  If I make an educated guess, that means the dressing is 420 Calories and the salad alone is 330 Calories. Which I am not surprised. It’s always dressings and tartar sauce that will do you in. Do not eat all the dressing,

PureGuardian Humidifier, 2-pack

I suffer from dry skin every Winter.  I try to use lotion whenever I can to relieve my itchy skin.  But, it’s not just an itch.  It also makes me feel self-conscious about my appearance.  I am paranoid that people might see my dry skin and skin flakes.  It’s gross to look at –  even though it’s my own body.  Using lotion all the time is a hassle, but it is what it is, I guess….

So, this time I will try humidifier.  Perhaps humidifiers will solve my dry skin problem.  Costco has this 2 pack humidifiers from PureGuardian.  There was $15 discount at the time of my purchase, so I paid $64.99 plus tax.  $32.50 each is the best price anywhere.

I put one humidifier in the kitchen and the other one in my master bedroom.  I had them for a few days now.  And my dry skin condition had completely disappears since then.  But I am not sure if I am seeing the benefit of humidifier or if there had been changes in the weather.

I shall give it time and see.  I will update you.

Christmas Moment

I contacted my friend Friday (Dec 22nd) and convinced her to come out after work for a “Christmas experience”.  Both she and I get off work late. We are tired, but I told her that she will look back and cherish the moment – that we must force ourselves to create some kind of Christmas moment before it’s gone.

The entire night I played my favorite Christmas music in my car.  I picked her up at her work and went for a quick bite.  And we went to a coffee shop and enjoyed holiday flavored coffee.

Then we walked around the shopping center and took some pictures.  I struck a silly pose in front of a big Christmas tree.  Then we realized that my stomach was exposed in the picture.  We had a big laugh.  We kept looking at that picture and kept laughing.

We took a detour back to her work and looked at houses with Christmas decorations.  I took her back to work in three hours.

4 days later, I cherish that magic moment.  I hate getting old.  I hope we will all live young forever.  Enjoy your magic moments.  I will talk to you soon.

Wardrobe by Costco (5 items):  Cashmere scarf, Buffalo brand hoodie, Calvin Klein shirt, Buffalo brand jeans, Kirkland Signature belt.

I will puke

Video will start at 27 second mark.  This is Apple commercial – artistically done. But… Oh God.

If she pulls that out from her ear hole and put it in my ear hole… I will puke.  I don’t even use the same Q-Tip for both left and right side of my own ear-canals.  It’s gross.

Costco Shopping – December 20, 2017

I have the ham.  I am ready.

I opened the red wrapper to make sure the ham is being well kept in vacuum packaging.

Beef jerky is for the guys at the mail annex at my work.  I use mail warehouse all the time.  I get my personal items delivered. During the holiday season they get cookies and crackers.  But, guys like meat.  So, I will slap on a ribbon on top and give it to them.

There will be massive eating this weekend.

Merry Christmas.  Enjoy.

Hate calling cable company for discount

It is a common knowledge that we should call our cable company and ask for better price.  With today's technology, a lot of people cut ties with cable providers.  So, when you call them, they must try to make you happy.

When I first sign up for Verizon FIOS, I was paying $130 a month for cable, internet, & phone service. After several years, my monthly bill is now $169/m.

I knew I should call them and ask for better price, but I hate calling cable company. So, I've been putting it off for a few years.  I am pretty sure that cable companies know we hate calling them.

Today I finally called them, now it's Frontier FIOS.  And they gave me $25/m discount just like that.  That's $300 extra annual income for me.

So… I lost $1000+ last several years because I was not on top of this game… because I hate calling my cable company.

I am the only person to blame on this.  I need to be more proactive.  I feel stupid.  I will not let this happen again.

I have a mild concussion.

Update:

Doctor thinks I have a mild concussion.  The x-ray showed minor neck injury (not too bad).  But, my problem is the headache that will not go away (nausea & dizziness).

He prescribed me physical therapy.  And wants me to check with him in 10 days.  We are guessing I will be better by then, or else… (bigger issue)

Doctor didn't seem worried.  He thinks I will be OK.   Now I know there isn't anything horribly wrong with me. For now, I still have the headache.

I am OK.  I can still enjoy everyday life.  🙂

Merry Christmas. Happy holidays.

OMG, I’m a yuppy.

After the accident, I had to buy a car ASAP.  So, I bought what I thought was the most boring & economical car.  I wanted my car to blend in with the rest.  It also had to be garage sale friendly.  So, I bought a Prius station wagon – a used one, of course.

I felt depressed and alone after the accident.  So, I bought some Christmas gifts to myself to cheer me up.  I bought a leather briefcase from Coach and a wallet from Paul Smith.  They were on sale.

I am getting old.  I work with kids 10-20(+) years younger than I am.  At this point of my life, I refuse to walk around with a DELL computer case anymore.  And no more JanSport.  I shall carry a nice leather case like the rest of the grown ups. I thought they will go nicely with my Italian shoes.

I texted my friend about what I bought.  Then my friend pointed out that I was a yuppy.

PS. I still have a headache. I have a dizzy spell also.  I am going to see a doctor tomorrow morning.  I will update you.

I am not OK. Pray for me.

*Update – my car was declated total loss.

I was driving to work Friday morning and I got hit from behind very hard. The picture may not look like much, but look at it closely.  Front side of her car parts are embedded in the backside of my car.  I had to pull out part of her license plate from inside my muffler.  Her radiator was destroyed.  It was a hard hit.

There is no broken bone.  There was no blood.  But, 5 days later, I have a headache that seems to be getting worse.  And I feel nauseated.  I think I’ll have to see a doctor.

I had to get a rental car, go out car shopping, talk to insurance company (many times), arrange to get my car picked up, etc…  I had to remind myself not to skip meal.  I had to pay close attention to myself so I will not forget my keys, paperwork, wallet…  This was the time I had to take care of myself.

All this is discouraging and depressing because I realize that I am alone in this world.  God bless single people.  I keep telling you that one thing I envy the most is people who have family of their own.

Below (picture) – green circle is the opening of my muffler.  It cut the license plate (of the person who hit me) like a cookie dough.  I couldn’t get this off, so I had to use a screw driver to put a hole and drive back home slowly.  Believe me, guys… it was a hard hit.

Several days were blurry, then I realized that Christmas is only a week away.  I got robbed out of my Christmas.  I only have12 days to Christmas.  How poetic.  It reminds me of my 12 days of Christmas in 2011.  Oh, how much I love Christmas. I wish the spirit of Christmas will make things better for me.

I guess I should feel thankful that it’s not worse… but my life is not normal.  It’s not THAT bad, but pray for me.

God bless everyone.  I will keep you updated.

My cubicle – Christmas 2017

I put up this decoration in my cubicle on Thanksgiving week.  Since then, every single day I hear people going “Oooh~!” “Aahhh~!!”.  It’s been super fun so far.

The Christmas tree with 800 lights was $10 at a garage sale.  I am the king of garage sale.

I bought the train, stuffed reindeer, and a red scarf from Costco.  Some things you just have to pay full price.

I’ve been playing Christmas music for last 2 months.  Christmast is only two weeks away.  I already feel emontional that the end is near.  I would like to enjoy more and share with more people.

Merry Christmas.  Happy holidays.
