Day Old Coffee

Sometimes I don't get to finish all the coffee I brew.

When I have left-over coffee, I don't trash it.  I keep it for the next day.

I keep my old coffee in the refrigerator.  Next day, I put some syrup (either French Vanilla or Caramel, depends on the mood) and drink it cold.

I buy coffee syrups from Costco, but it gets a little tricky.

You can purchase coffee syrups ONLY from Jose's booth events.   Jose's sales team will visit your local Costco a few times a year.  We don't shop at Costco everday, so you may not get to see Jose's Booth for years.  You may have to call your local Costco for Jose's schedule.

Worms in Jose's French Roast

For what it's worth:

I just threw out half a bag of Jose's French Roast Coffee
as I found it to be wormy. Granted, I had it for several
months before discovering the worms, only after grinding
the coffee. Not believing this could happen to a dark
roasted coffee, I ground several large batches and sure
enough, there were little maggot like worms in the ground
coffee. There weren't that many but they were there and
the coffee went in the garbage. No More Jose's for me.

Caveat Emptor

Re: Worms in Jose's French Roast

OH my GOD~!!  That is disgusting.
I will check my coffee as soon as I get home.
I don't think I'll trash all my coffee, but I will definitely check my coffee beans before grinding them.

Also, if there were maggots in Jose's coffee, that means maggots "May" be in any other coffee of different brand names.

I guess you cannot be a 100% perfect (for example, ALL restaurants have roaches, even in Beverly Hills.). But you want your end products to be perfect.

AND:
There is a chance you drank maggot juice without knowing.  AHH~~!!!!!

Thank you for NOT posting pictures (sparing us from upchucking).

Oh boy... good info.  thank you very much.

Re: Worms in Jose's French Roast

What are you doing buying Jose's French Roast?

Stick to Starbucks. Jose's is for flavored only.

I wish Costco would carry Pete's Coffee, but it's OK. Starbucks will do.

Tongue out

Re: Worms in Jose's French Roast

How is this possible? I think the coffee is cooked at 300 or 400 degrees. The bags are air tight once the coffee is packaged. At least mine have been when I've purchased their coffee. Are you sure the bugs didn't get in after you brought the coffee home and opened it?

I've been buying the Jose's coffee for years and eagerly look forward to seeing them at my Costco when they come around with the flavored coffees. Never had a problem. Plus if there was a problem, Costco would take them out. Product quality and safety is always important to Costco.

Re: Worms in Jose's French Roast

good point.
Thank you for taking time to write this.
:)

Re: Day Old Coffee

They only appeared after grinding and they are quite
small. Anyway, no more for me as I just bought some
French Roast at Smart & final.

Fool me once, shame on you.
Fool me twice, shame on me.

Re: Day Old Coffee

Well, that's a good idea. I will try it. Why didn't I think of that before. I always throw my brewed coffee when I can't consume all of it. Will look for Coffee makers later this afternoon though because mine is broken.

Re: Day Old Coffee
