I find myself speaking my mind. Even to my customers.
This is something I would never do 10-20 years ago.
For example
I took pictures of the batteries last weekend. And I was arranging time to drop by to return their products and collect payment.
Everything went well. Customer liked the pictures.
At the very end, their accounting person emailed. Email was also copied to 2 other people in their company.
It said they would need my tax ID or SSN.
So, without hesitation, I replied with this email (also CC'd 2 other people)

Hi.
This can get ugly.
When you buy a candy from a candy store – do you ask for their Tax ID or SS number?
When you buy a Sham Wow – do you ask for tax ID from the Sham Wow guy?
So, why do you ask for my tax ID?
I refuse to submit to that.
Thank you

At that time I didn't care if I didn't get paid. I was very annoyed.
Then I realized that I was wrong.
That's not how I should behave.
I must keep reminding myself not to act my age (like a grumpy old man).

Re: Sign of Getting Old - Sarcastic, Grumpy old Man
i know the feeling of getting old all too well... i mean ok im 22 but like some of the things people do these days really tick me off... i let a lot of things slide when it comes to mistake.. but like the simple things that shudnt take much effort to get rite... thats where i cant take it... i dunno.
hah and just last nite my cousin needed me to drop something off to her at nite and told me i had until 10:30pm to drop it off or else the counselors (she goes to a summer college program for youths) wudnt let me to give it to her. At the time of the call it was 10:00pm. So i found this as an opportunity to defy authority with logic (i had to bring her medication... so i cud always pin this as medical emergency...). and if they didnt let me give it to her id have raised hell... the entire ride to her college i was preparing myself for every counter argument they cud come up with... fortunately (for them) i got there by 10:25pm.
I guess ill save this unused rage for some other time.
p.s. this isnt the first time my cousin has told me about the "camp" restrictions... so the first time i heard of their ridiculous rules i was pretty peeved.
well thats all. old man out.

:)
The point is to realize that I was wrong. So I can be a better person.
But when the time comes... haha..
