Nike vs. Adidas Pt. 1

  • I have 3 pairs of dress shoes and 2 pairs of boots.  But I don't have any white sneakers. (I have a pair of gym shoes for workout & running, but that doesn't count).  I don't have any sneakers because I never wear jeans.  Somehow I find (ironed) dress pants more relaxing.

When I go visit my parents, I make sure that I am not wearing blue jeans, because I cannot take a nap while I'm in them.  It's suffocating.

Last time I bought a pair of sneakers was 10+ years ago.

Anyway.. Recently, one of my coworkers bought a pair of Adidas.  Then we had a serious discussion on "Nike vs. Adidas".  Most people favored Nike.  But, one guy hated Nike (this is the guy who just bought a pair of Adidas).

After all that talking about sneakers, I couldn't fight the urge to buy a brand new pair.  So, today I went to the Nike store and found this pair on sale for $29.99.  This was the cheapest pair, also the best looking one.  They were the last pair marked down as "Floor Model".

I also checked out the Adidas store.  But I couldn't find anything I liked.

Now I have to buy some jeans and matching shirts.

$29.99 - Much better than Kirkland Signature's sneakers

PS. Oh, I was so lucky that I found this pair.  Because all the sneakers nowadays have crazy designs.  They all look so stupid and childish.  It's very difficult to find normal looking shoes.  It's ridiculous.

Oh yes, I fixed dinner tonight with my new shoes on. Smile

    Costco Shopping - March 28, 2009

    * Today's Costco shopping: 13th time this year, 3nd time this month

I spent less than $70.00 today.

I have a cold, so I bought some chicken soups and medication.

(I am too busy to keep up with my Costco blog...)

    *25th & 26th packages of the year

    This is a TV tray.

The next item that's not shown are the leg warmers.  Sometimes my legs feel cold when I work on my computers at night. So I bought some cheap women's leg warmers.  Actually they feel fantastic.  I should have bought them years ago.  But I will not share a picture of it because I am embarrassed.

    My First Sewing Kit

This is my first sewing kit I got from Michael's today.

It looks pathetic. I spent less than $6.00 total.

I spent 15 minute sewing some stuff.

I quickly learned some tricks.  If common house-wives can do this, then I should be able to produce equal or better results.

I am afraid I will get too excited and end up buying a sewing machine.

I need a pincushion, a better needle case, a pair of small scissors, a better sewing case, etc...

    Single man's first Sewing Kit

Today, after work, I did 6 loads of wash and put together my first sewing kit.  It's getting too late.  I better fix a quick dinner before start ironing a mountain of shirts and pants.

    I am so tired...

    Love my new sewing kit.

Salute to Single Men in the World

Here's for all the single men in the world

I never go out on Saturday night. (any night of the week for that matter).  I have things to do.  I am busy.

It was a Saturday night 10pm when I started to get ready to burn midnight oil.

I took a shower and went out for a quick shopping. I went to Ralphs, Del Taco, and a donut shop.  I wanted some donuts to go with my coffee.

I brewed 100% Kona coffee at 11pm.  I hope to stay awake all night and get things done.  I have a lot of items on my to-do list.  I'll be working all day tomorrow as well.  I work more during the weekends then I do on weekdays.  Weekend is the time I focus on my own business (and a secret project).

    Anyway...
Here's my salute to all the single men in the world.
Nobody gives you credit for what you do.  But, your days will come (I hope)...

It's now past 8:00AM Sunday morning.  I think I'm going to rest now.

    Packages

    * 21st, 23rd package of the year

I felt like Christmas today.  I forgot what I bought, so I didn't know what's supposed to be in the packages.  It was like me sending myself a mystery gift from the past.

2 mini flash lights & 2 flash cables.  They are all work related items. Those mini flash lights are super bright.. amazing technology.

    Costco Shopping - March 19, 2009

    * Today's Costco shopping: 12th time this year, 2nd time this month

I am always busy.  I mean super busy...

Right after work, I had a meeting with my customers at Agoura Hills.  We had a nice talk for 1 hour.  The event was booked and they cut the check on the spot.  When I meet customers, I have a high ratio of closing the deal. Sometimes I book events without meeting them.  Sometimes customers send deposits from Japan, Canada, New York....

After the meeting, I had a very short time to shop at Costco in Westlake Village.  I arrived there 8:15pm, 15 minutes before they close the entrance.

I went through my shopping list very fast.  I bought 2 bags of Starbucks Coffee.  I am going to give one bag to my neighbor.

You see, I enjoy giving things to my neighbors.  I love watching people feeling happy because of what I do for them.

I spent less than $70.00 today (used 3 coupons).

I came home around 9pm and I fixed a quick dinner.

    Tired...

    Happy St. Patrick's Day

    * 19th package of the year

I wore green today. This is very unusual, because I never wear green for St. Patrick's Day.  I don't know... I felt like wearing green today.

Look, I even drank a cup of green tea (Jasmine).  I often use 2 bags in a cup for extra kick.

    Green Sleave, Green Tea

Story about my Homer Simpson mug.  First, I saw them at Linens'n Things for $25.00 each.  Then, a few months later, I went back to the same Linens'n Things.  I found 4 of these mugs at clearance bin for $5.00 each.  So I bought all 4 of them.  This quickly became my favorite mug.  The picture fits perfectly when I come to work every morning (although I love my work).

    Swiss Army Knife

My mini Swiss Army Knife came. It's got a tiny LED flash light.  This can come in handy at the weddings.

My coworker has the same knife.  He often helps me openning my packages with his knife.  So I figured, why not get one myself.  It was under $20.00.

Lunch - Salad & Anchovy Pizza

When I ordered an Anchovy Pizza, the cashier said "You are the first person ordering anchovy in 2 months".  So, I told her "Make that 2".  Because my coworker was getting a Double Anchovy pizza.

"How do I explain the beauty of anchovy?  How do I make them understand?" I asked to my co-worker.  "I don't know, dude... start a website" he replied.

We talked about anchovy pizzas while we were eating 'em.
I told him how much I enjoy the chalky, meaty texture of anchovy.
My coworker told me about the best anchovy pizza he ever had.  That's right, we are a couple of deep thinkers.

    Mm... good stuff.

    Salad

For lunch, we only get one trip to the salad bar with this bowl.  So, naturally, we pile 'em up high.

I quickly learned that Sprouts goes on top.  That bowl of salad could have gone a lot higher but I didn't want to embarrass my coworker.

    Costco Shopping - March 10, 2009 - $100.32

    * Today's Costco shopping: 11th time this year, 1st time this month

Today, I went to Costco on my lunch time. It took me exactly 1 hour and 2 minutes to go to Costco, shop, get gas, and come back to work.

I am beginning to like lunch time shopping.  It gives me luxury of free time after work.

I think I'm going to do laundry on lunch time as well.  Of course, I cannot do laundry in 1 hour.  So, I'll have to take 90 minutes lunch.  I'm gonna try that tomorrow.

I bought 2 more short sleeves shirts.  I have about a dozen of these shirts now.  I love them.

I am loving that Stir Fry Vegetables.

    Anyway, I spent $100.32.  (Shopping $74.83, gas $25.49)

    Unscented Please

    (Oh boy, here I go..)

How come so many deodorants, after shaves, and lotions have stupid smell to it?  Why is it so difficult to find decent unscented aftershave?

I don't like the smell of every single aftershave in the market.  I don't care if they are from Channel or Old Spice. They are all disgusting.  I hate 'em.

I don't want to smell like a grand father.  I don't want to smell like a college kid who likes clubbing a lot.

They call it "Cool Breeze", "Sports Scent", and whatever... that doesn't make sense.  Why advertise your armpit smell?  Everyone knows that smell is coming out from the pits of your arms.  That's disgusting.

Do they have such smell convention for feminine care products?  if I was a woman, I would hate my tampon to smell, period (no pun intended).  I don't want anyone to associate the fragrance with my vagina.  That's horrible.

I believe "No Smell" is way to go.  Am I the only person thinking this way?

Gave Tweety Birds to My Neighbor

There is an old lady in my neighborhood. She's 84 years old.  She used to carry a big fuzzy Tweety Bird key chain.

I say "Hi" whenever I see her.
Her tweety bird was getting dirty.

Then, one day, she stopped carrying her Tweety Bird.  She lost the bird, she said.

So I went online and ordered two Tweety Key-chains.

    Fuzzy Tweety Bird Keychain

After a few weeks, I saw the old lady getting in to her house.

I grabbed my Tweeties from back seat of my car and ran after her.

I had to be very careful not to scare her. She might think I was a criminal or something, so..

I said "hi" and gave her the tweety key-chain.

She was very happy.  She gave me a big hug.  She was saying "Thank you, thank you... how sweet.. "  She was almost crying.

    Good time.

    Westlake Village Costco

    * Today's Costco shopping: 11th time this year, 1st time this month

I was looking for The Chocolates of the World and the new Kirkland Signature's Primium Nissin Cup Noodles (not to be confused with regular Cup Noodles they usually sell).  But I couldn't find any. Frown

So I ate a hot-dog and came back home.

    ZZzzz

Costco Shopper Booted After 14th Free Cracker

Here is a funny & interesting story.

Costco management took the unprecedented step of removing a shopper from its Oakland, California store for abusing its free sample program. Bill Wentworth of San Jose, CA was forcibly ushered to the exit after management spotted him eating a 14th lobster dip cracker.
    .
Wentworth utilized crude props to dupe unsuspecting Costco workers, such as fake beards, mirrored sunglasses, and wheelchairs. He also spoke to workers using fake foreign accents....

    The story doesn't stop there.
More embarrassing story continues at  GlossyNews Article

    * How do they know he had 14 crackers, not 13 or 15?  Does that mean Costco is actively watching free sample tables?
