Costco Shopping – August 30, 2019

I am obsessed with watermelons. I want good watermelons, but I don’t know how to pick them. This watermelon from Costco was not very tasty. So, went online and studied how to find good watermelons. The next day I went to a local market and bought another watermelon. That one was good, but not super-fantastic.

Instant Vietnamese Pho was on sale so I gave it a try. They are very good. It goes nicely with sriracha sauce.

José’s Gourmet Coffee was having a roadshow at my warehouse. This was perfect timing. I picked up 3 bags of Christmas flavors. I will give one bag to a friend. The smell of this coffee makes the holiday season more festive, and it makes me feel cozy when it’s cold or raining outside.

I use three different soaps. They are; 1) Fancy boutique soap for handwashing, 2) moisturizing soap (Dove) for the shower, and 3) squeaky clean soap (Irish Spring), also for the shower.

In the shower, I use two different soaps on different parts of my body. For example, I want moisturizing soap on my body, but I want dry soap on my armpits and face.

Irish Spring is my go-to squeaky clean soap. Costco always puts these soaps on sale from time to time. So, I always buy Irish Spring with extra savings at Costco.

I knew nothing about Pecorino Romano Cheese. I thought I can cut it up and snack it. But, DANG, this cheese is salty. I mean it’s very salty, that it cannot be good for my blood pressure. My tongue is still burning from the cheese. Afterward, I went online and learned that Pecorino Romano Cheese is supposed to grate over pasta and such. I have so much to learn.

Organic Sundried Tomato Pesto with basil

I just noticed this new item and had to try it. It is very good, my family loved it. The best thing about it is that it isn’t salty. Lower in sodium and it uses almonds instead of pine nuts “if you have an allergy”. I was able to add, Costco’s signature manchego cheese to it and it still was not salty.

San Francisco Bay Gourmet Coffee

I received two types of coffee to review:

  1. Fog Chaser
  2. French Roast

We brought the two flavors up to the mountains, 90 minutes from Seattle last week and had multiple trials with friends and family. We all favored San Francisco Bay’s gourmet coffee, Fog Chaser.

Opening the package, you get a sweet aroma. Tasting our first cup was silky smooth sipping. Found it well balanced and medium bodied. Notes reminded me of sipping hot chocolate. I think it is our new favorite. I had more cups than I usually have, it was that good.

My family actually prefers San Francisco Bay as buyers already so I was happy we were presented the opportunity to receive samples from a representative. We compared it to the blend we already previously purchased from Costco “organic rainforest blend”. It is very close.

Tuxedo mousse cups and creme brulee are for my neighborhood block party. These are guaranteed good times. I know my neighbors will love these.

Turkey Jerky is a treat to myself for this weekend.

I will probably trash some cherries because I cannot eat them all. I no longer feel guilty about throwing away food. I pay tax and put my best efforts to cut down on waste. That’s all I can do.

** I trashed the cherries a few days later. They were not very good.
