Maximus Smart Security Light (Costco #1145059) is an outdoor light with a built-in HD security camera. It will record high-definition videos with sound. Video clips are stored in the cloud where you can review and download. You can watch a live video feed and control the unit with your mobile devices. It comes with basic free services with an option to upgrade to premium services.

My favorite function is audio and light alert when somebody approaches my door. To me, that alert alone is worthy of purchasing the unit. Bad guys are unlikely to pursue my house after seeing that. See the video below.

It took me less than 30 minutes to install the light. I didn’t bother to read the instruction. It took me extra time because I was taking pictures of the progress. Installation was straightforward. Connecting camera to home network was simple as well. I followed online instructions (click this, tap that). If you are reading my blog, chances are you can connect the camera to your home network. But, some people will find it difficult to set it up.

Installing the lamp can be challenging if you haven’t done such things in the past.

Costco sells these security lights for $139.99. They sell them at my local Costco warehouse.

With purchase of the light, you receive these free services.

  • Covers 1 camera
  • Live Video
  • 2-Way Audio
  • 2 hour event look back.

With paid services ($4.99, $9.99, or $19.99) you get.

  • Covers multiple cameras (1, 4, or 8 cameras)
  • Extended event look back (7, 14, or 30 days)
  • Unlimited download
  • And more.

I received this light as a review unit. If this light breaks down for some reason, I will buy the same unit to replace it.  Once you have this light, there is no going back. I cannot imagine NOT having this light. I really like that alert. To me, it’s all about that alert.

Kirkland Signature’s Balsamic Vinegar is well known for its superior quality and fine taste. I use it often at work for my lunch salad. It’s the best salad dressing I know of. It’s tasty and healthy.

Now, Kirkland Signature’s Balsamic Vinegar comes with a built-in pour spout. This brilliant little mechanism is absolutely useful. It eliminates the need for a separate bottle and spout. I can now use my Costco Balsamic Vinegar straight from the original bottle. The spout functions perfectly, much better than generic spouts at most restaurants. This is a great idea, and I am truly enjoying it.

I shot a quick video below. Check it out.

Check this out – Al Pastor Salad at Costco food court. Let me know if you tried it before. Did you like it? The only reason I didn’t try Al Pastor Salad is because of its high sodium content. My doctor said I need to watch sodium intake. I guess I can completely skip the dressing, but…

So… anyway… I will not eat it, you eat it and let me know. Haha..

What we know so far.

  • It’s not vegan – The dressing contains eggs. You may eat without dressing.
  • It has 3270 mg of sodium and 59 mg of fat
    • That’s a lot of salt.
    • FDA recommended daily sodium intake is less than 2300 mg

Nutritional facts can be found here.
https://www.myfitnesspal.com/food/calories/costco-food-court-al-pastor-salad-697591844

It’s $4.99.  The sign says…

  • Plant-based protein (soy)
  • Chopped romaine
  • Black beans and fresh vegetables
  • Banh mi vegetables and dressing
  • 330 – 750 cal.

It says 330 – 750 cal. If I make an educated guess, that means the dressing is 420 Calories and the salad alone is 330 Calories. Which I am not surprised about. It’s always dressings and tartar sauce that will do you in. Do not eat all the dressing,

Updated October 2018:
I don’t like The Original Green Pan that I bought in 2016. They started to stick like glue after several months. The dimples were a gimmick. Costco better not bring those pans back.

The pair of Original Green Pans were $39.99. What caught my attention was that they have dimples – they call it “Dotted Surface” that optimally distributes oil. But these pans are not good. I am bitter about this experience.

I am sick of buying frying pans. They all claim to be nonstick. But they never last long enough. My prior non-stick ceramic pan lasted about 4 months and it started to stick like glue.

Company website: www.GoldenIslandJerky.com

Have you tried jerkies by Golden Island? I see them occasionally at Costco. I usually see one flavor at a time. They sell jerkies with exotic & unique flavors such as Kung Pao Beef & Korean Barbecue Pork. They are tender and rich in flavor.

Their jerkies are handcrafted in small batches – according to their website.

I wondered about how they tasted. Then I received these samples. I can’t describe the taste with words – but they are all very nice. My favorite is Kung Pao beef. If I see them at Costco I will buy some.

Most jerkies in the market have a similar taste. They have a common theme going on. But, Golden Island sells jerkies with unique tastes that if I have a craving for Kung Pao beef, there will be no substitute for it.

If you are a jerky lover who likes Asian & ethnic taste, these may be a special treat for you. You can see them occasionally at Costco.

Look below for pictures and my quick reviews on each product.

Grilled Barbecue – Although I enjoyed it, this tasted more “Common” to me.

Korean Barbeque (Pork) – Very nice and exotic (different)

Sriracha (pork) – Very nice and exotic (different)

Kung Pao (Beef) – Perhaps my favorite of them all. It’s exotic, spicy (not very spicy), and has a rich ethnic taste. Look at all that peppers. It doesn’t taste like anything I’ve tasted before. I liked it a lot. I want some more.

* This purchase pays for your Costco membership.

I bought a Christmas gift for myself at the Costco website.

Vizio SB4051-C0 40″ 5.1 Bluetooth Sound Bar with Wireless Subwoofer.

Vizio Soun Bar Costco Saving

This Vizio Sound Bar is on Costco’s Pre-Thanksgiving flyer. It was $199.99 after an $80.00 discount.

This Vizio Sound Bar sits behind my TV that I can barely see it there. The subwoofer is hidden on the floor behind the TV. My TV remote controls the volume of the Sound Bar. Music channels sound amazing with this. And this is loud.

As a TV lover, this soundbar dramatically improves my lifestyle. I am really enjoying this.

FYI: I still haven’t installed the satellite speakers.

Costco’s Vizio Sound Bar circled. Sitting behind the TV.

I came a long way. When I first started my blog, I had a 9 inch TV in my living room.

*NUBZ dog chew review.

Costco coupon book is out. I see a lot of good stuff to buy this month.

If you are a dog owner, check out NUBZ (edible) dog chew. I have a few bags of these that the PR people sent me. I gave these to 8 dogs so far. All 8 dogs loved them. It’s supposed to be good for their teeth. So far all 8 dogs went crazy over NUBZ even before I took it out from the package. Since then, I gave NUBZ to the same dogs a few more times. They all enjoyed NUBZ every single time. Cute…

They are $4 off during this coupon period.
