Costco Towels – Charisma

In thanksgiving 2008, I bought several towels by Grandeur (picture below). I still use those towels. I paid about $8.00 each. I like the sophisticated color, wasabi green. These towels feel amazingly good. Since then, I’ve been checking prices on towels whenever I go to Linens and Things. Towels of this quality will easily cost you $25+.

Sometime last year, Costco stopped carrying Grandeur and now they stock Charisma towels. Charisma towels are inferior to Grandeur and have somewhat cheap-looking colors. (picture at bottom). Also, Charisma towels don’t feel as luxurious. They are still of good value. But I like the older brand “Grandeur” much better. I was disappointed that Grandeur towels were no longer available at Costco.

Update 2021: 11 – 13 years later, I still use both Grandeur & Charisma towels. The old brand “Grandeur” is still better than Charisma. Also, since It’s been 13 years, I am unsure if Grandeur is still making quality towels. So, next time I will try more luxurious Turkish towels from Costco.

* 6th Costco Shopping this year, 3rd time this month.

I bought things that are absolutely needed. I am spending less money this year.

  • A carbon Monoxide Detector is a life-savor. You must own one.
  • Kirkland Signature’s pepper (with a built-in grinder) is a very good price at $3.99. If you go elsewhere, you will find a cheap grinder for $15-$20. And they don’t even have any peppers in them.
  • I believe any razor that takes a battery provides superior shaving results. (update 2021 – I am still using this razor after 11 years.)

At the checkout, I handed in my rebate check. They gave me a $91.34 change in cash.

First of all, I had 4 hours of sleep last night. I was struggling to stay awake at work. I had to take an ephedrine pill to get me going (I bought them before they became illegal).

I did 3 loads of laundry after work. Then I went to Costco.

I am doing very well with saving money. I didn’t buy anything expensive.  I didn’t buy any toys. All my food items have low fat & they are good for me. I bought Jose’s Coffee ($8.89) instead of Starbucks ($19.99).

I spent $75.49. But the gas pushed my grand total over $100.00.

Finally, at 9 pm, I went to the kitchen to make dinner.
Now I have a mountain of clean laundry to fold.

PS. I broke one egg at home 🙁

I believe I’m doing good with saving money. I didn’t spend money for fun today. Even with gas, I spent less than $70.00.

I bought some more Costco tote bags because my friends and family keep taking them.  🙂

I have a family gathering coming up tomorrow, so I bought some treats for my nephews. Then I picked up some items for myself (shirt, egg, v3, carrots, tuna).

* 2nd Costco Shopping this year, 2nd time this month.

I dropped by at Costco today for a hotdog. Also, I went to buy some items I absolutely needed.

Costco is having a sale on about a dozen vitamins. A lot of vitamins have an instant rebate of $2.00 and up. I saved $5.50 on two vitamins (pic). FYI: Most vitamins are good for 2 years.
